Well, for the past few months people have been on my case to write a blog about me and my business. So here goes!
My company is Stylish Occasions by Melissa Miville. I have been helping friends and family plan events since 2002. I've helped with weddings, bridal and baby showers, birthday parties, and more. Over the past few years I've been asking myself what I want to be when I grow up. After some long, hard thinking, as well as a lot of list making, I realized not only did I enjoy planning events, but I was good at it!
I've always loved fashion and design. Plus everyone who knows me knows that I can find the best price on almost anything - from travel to food to clothing and more! With event planning you not only need to have a good fashion sense, but also be able to help your clients find the best deals possible. So I decided to take the Professional Bridal Consultant courses from Education Direct in 2005.
Things ended up getting put on hold once I had Alexa and then after finding out I had two types of cancer. During the last bout with cancer I did book and help plan a wedding. My first paid wedding!
The one thing I learned from cancer is that life is short so live every day to it's fullest. This also made me realize I need to do something I truly enjoy and am good at. So now my business is up and running and I am working on several events right now. (I will blog more on those as they get closer.)
