Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! Can you believe 2015 is upon us? We are so happy we made it through another year! This was the 7th year for Stylish Occasions Wedding & Event Planning so we are now entering our 8th year! 2014 was another great year. Almost half of our weddings used our full wedding planning services. In the past there have always been more couples using our Helper Package (aka Month Of Coordination) but now things are moving more towards full wedding planning. Couples are realizing how much is involved in planning their wedding and realizing how little time they have to do it by themselves. We love helping our clients with budgets, finding the perfect vendors to fit their style, with decor and design, with setting up appointments for them, and much more.

In February of 2014 we planned our first out of the country destination wedding...in Costa Rica! We look forward to planning many more of these as well as continuing to plan destination weddings inside the US.

We also planned our first celebrity wedding in 2014! The bride and groom live in LA but decided to get married back here on the East Coast in the bride's hometown! They turned out to be the sweetest couple and it was great working with them and the bride's family to plan their wedding. I will be blogging about this wedding soon!

We had many interesting weddings. Some unique things that were incorporated into our couples weddings were antique cars, The Philadelphia Mummers (yes, the ones you see in the New Year's Day Parade!), Chinese Lion Dancers, twins (one of our couples were BOTH twins!), Hershey Characters, and much more. We saw a lot of lace, nude, and blush colors, as well as a lot of vintage items incorporated in weddings. And we planned a lot of "barn" weddings. I put barn in quotes because many of these weddings were at very upscale, climate controlled barns...not what most think of as a typical barn! We planned quite a few at The Farm at Eagle's Ridge this year, a newer, upscale barn.

This year we even planned a nightclub themed wedding for one of our couples (they met at a nightclub). And we planned one wedding...from start to finish...in less than three months without meeting the couple in person until three days before the wedding! We picked the venue and all vendors for them without them ever seeing/meeting them! That was a bit nerve-wracking but it turned out awesome!

This year we once again won The Knot Best Of Weddings in the Wedding Planner category for the third year in a row! And once again won the Wedding Wire Couples Choice Award for the fourth year in a row! We were featured in several wedding related articles and even had the Costa Rica Destination wedding featured on Destination I Do's blog!

2014 was a great year for Katie also. She coordinated more than double the weddings she did last year on her own! Katie has been with us since July of 2010 and we look forward to her continuing on.

We also had several interns/wedding day helpers in 2014 including Emily (who has been with us for several years now), Rachael, Angela, Ashley and Casey! I couldn't have made it through this year without all these girls!

We worked with many awesome vendors this year...many that we work with on a regular basis and also some that we worked with for the first time and hope to continue working with.

2015 is shaping up to be another amazing year already! We are booking up extremely quickly and already have booked for 2015 more than half the amount of weddings we planned and coordinated in 2014! We even have several 2016 weddings booked and one for 2017!

We hope you all had a wonderful 2014 also. Thank you for all your love and support throughout the years. We couldn't do this without you!
