I'm finally catching up on blogging some past events! This one was back in September. My client hired me to help her plan a surprise party for her husband's 30th birthday. She wanted it in her backyard, but didn't want it to be your typical "backyard BBQ." She wanted a bit more "elegant"!
I checked out several tents in case it would rain. Unfortunately with the location of the trees in the yard we couldn't get a tent big enough for all the guests. So we prayed for no rain and luckily there was none! We did rent the tables from Rental World.
The hardest part of planning this party was finding outdoor lighting. There weren't many trees so we couldn't hang lights from the trees. The budget didn't really allow for pricey lanterns. So the only option I could think of was tiki torches. But we didn't want the normal tiki torches...we wanted something nicer. After searching everywhere I did find these:
We got 6 of them and they lit up the yard great! My client also hooked a spotlight up and with all of that it was perfect!
We ordered the main dish from Enck's Catering and I heard most of the guests say how good it was. Then my client made some of the appetizers. This one was especially delicious!
I also contacted Edible Arrangements and convinced her to give us an edible fruit basket for the party. She even did the top as a "30" out of pineapple!
My client also decided she wanted to put some signs in the front yard. We originally wanted head stones but after searching everywhere I could not find any like that. So we did find a place that did cow signs, Lawn Announcements. They put one large cow and 30 small cows!
My client also surprised her husband with a trip to Florida! unfortunately I didn't stick around late enough to see his face when he found out, but I'm sure he loved it!
Here are some more pictures from the party. Enjoy!
